Http://www.youtube.com/user/RKsipodtouchhelp that is my youtube account. I have two videos on vnc. I dont know if you are using vnc for the dislpay of your ipod touch on your computer screen or the display of your computer screen on your ipod. I have a video on both so you should be okay. If you have any questions please leave me a message ON YOUTUBE. Also if they help i would appreciate it if you would subscribe and spread the word. I hope i helped.
Your computer must still be on and the vnc server needs to be on. If you close the vnc server out and then it says it wont connect you need to go back to configure password and then re enter that password again. PLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO MY VIDEOS.

How come Vine VNC won’t work with my mac?
I have a power mac g4 with os x 10.3.2 and I downloaded Vine vnc and installed it. When I opened it up though, It said the server stopped running? It also shows something on the sofware about port 5900, I though I forwarded the port correctly but I don’t know? Does enableing UPnP on my router atomatically forward ports that are needed?

admin answers:
Looks like you’re stuck at version 3 at the latest so verify you have the latest version MacOS 10.3 can support.

Enabling uPnP on the router will only help if you’re trying to get onto your machine from the Internet. You still need to open those ports on your Mac. I’m not familiar with the firewall configs on 10.3 but in 10.6 it’s in System Prefs > Security > Firewall.
You can run MacOS 10.5 on a Power Mac G4, or 10.4 as well. It’s something worth considering to make your life a bit simpler.

Joseph asks…
how to connect remote computer via vnc?
i download vnc software to access my friend computer via vnc .i have ip number also, but it cannt connect. pls anybody explain me to how to connect

admin answers:
Traditional way:
1. Make sure the vnc is running on your friend’s pc, and configured correctly (password, access control etc).
2. Make sure the filewall on your friend’s pc is not blocking vnc.
3. Make sure the ip he/she gave to you is correct. He/she may want to use a dynamic DNS service http://dyndns.com to track the ip address change. Nomally ip will change once a month on a dsl link.
4. If your friends pc is behind a NAT router, i.e. His/her pc has private ip address like 10.x.x.x or 192.168.x.x, he/she need to configure portforwarding on the router to forward tcp port 5900 to his/her computer. Note that once he/she does that, the vnc server will be exposed to the whole internet. So better chose a strong password!
5. Make sure you input the right ip (must be a public ip) and right password.
Easier way:
Use Gbridge ( http://gbridge.com ). It is a free software. It has built-in ultraVNC that runs on top of a google based VPN, so it is much safer. It can penetrate NAT automatically. You and your friend both need to install gbridge and invite/accept each other as “friend”. You and your friend would need two google account names to help identify each other (google accounts are free to get anyway). You do not even need to keep track your friend’s machine’s IP address, no port forwarding needed either. Your friend will see you in the gbridge window. He/she can start chat with you and send a DesktopShare invitation to you so you can see (and control, if your friend allow) his/her desktop together with he/she.
If you have multiple computers, Gbridge can do password-base access control as well (don’t need invitation) as long as the computers are login under the same google account.
Gbridge also provides other cool features such like folder sync, file backup, private file share among friends which are fun to explore!

How do you find the server on VNC?
My husband told me to download this thing called “VNC Viewer”, and it says to enter a server, whats a server, and how do I get it?

admin answers:
The server it’s talking about is the name or IP address of the computer you wish to connect to.
