TightVNC is very good for windows + linux, and I am a big fan of Chicken of the VNC for Mac OSX. Both are pretty light and fast, and you cannot really go wrong with either.

Linda asks…

VNC Free Edition 4.1.2 not working… I can connect to myself on both computers, but not to each other?

anyone know what the problem could be? both computers are using firewalls. i tried connecting to the same computer using the VNC server, and it worked, however,

when i use the other computer to connect to this server, it wont work. i tried using the IP, and the computer name, it works with the computer name, but not when trying to connect to each other
ah, they do both have the same IP. is there a way to fix this?

admin answers:

Make sure both computers don’t have the same IP address if they do they won’t connect. What happens is the comp will think it’s trying to connect to it’s self hence the different IP
